Last year, the sector contributed 14 billion USD to the state budget, 37% of total budget revenues and support 150 million USD for social welfare programs. Key national projects honored at the event included the Nghi Son oil refinery, the East Sea projects of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group, and the undersea electric cable from Ha Tien town to Phu Quoc island, the longest cable of this type in Southeast Asia.
Bui Van Cuong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Central Business Sector, said efforts will be made to boost the restructuring of enterprises and banks, equitize state-owned enterprises and strengthen the Party’s leadership over state enterprises.
