(VOVworld) – A retreat of chairmen of the Vietnam-Laos border marker planting joint committee was held in Hanoi over the last 2 days.

They praised efforts by both countries’ relevant agencies in implementing a project to reinforce markers along the shared border. They agreed on a proposal that the two governments should review the project and sign a protocol on the Vietnam-Laos border and markers and an agreement on border and border checkpoint management regulations. They also agreed on plans for 2016 and accelerate the implementation of an agreement between the two governments to address free migration and illegal marriage in Vietnam-Laos border areas.
