Items sold at the auction included elaborate scarves, glass figurines, and lacquer-painted bowls combining modern design with elements of Vietnamese culture. Nguyen Anh Thu is a designer with the Ngan An traditional long dress company, which brought to the auction their special collections. "In addition to my business, I take an interest in charitable activities and want to contribute to the community. I was interested in this event and brought my company’s collections to donate them to the Embassy for the auction. The models are wives of the Embassy staff and Vietnamese students studying in the US", Thu says.
