(VOVWORLD) -China's Ministry of Finance announced Wednesday that it will raise tariffs on goods imported from the US to 84% and the new tariffs will take effect from Thursday.

Also on Wednesday, China lodged a new complaint with the World Trade Organization after the US further increased tariffs on Chinese imports to 104%.
On April 4, China announced an additional tariff of 34% on all American imports. The Chinese Ministry of Commerce said this move is in response to the 34% reciprocal tariff announced by US President Donald Trump on April 2.
