Hai said the first and foremost work now is China’s withdrawal of its vessels and oil rig from the area. Hai said Chinese diplomat officials’ response to the issue in a press briefing in Beijing on May 8 was not appropriate: "“Chinese officials were not in earnest and they failed to present any practical data and pictures. It must be made clear that Vietnamese vessels in the waters are all civilian and they did not held provocative acts towards Chinese vessels. It’s the Chinese vessels actively which intentionally rammed Vietnamese ships. During our press briefing on May 7, Vietnam displayed detailed images proving China’s illegal acts. China has showed a twilit attitude in relating issues, including their demands in the East Sea. These have never been clarified, especially when the world community has asked China to prove that their demands are in compliance with international law.”
