(VOVworld) – China and the US diplomatic ties have become tense as the US has accused a Chinese fighter jet of conducting a “dangerous intercept” of a US Navy surveillance aircraft in the East Sea on August 19^th.

Chinese Defense Ministry spokesman Yang Yujun said the large-scale and highly frequent close-in reconnaissance by the U.S. against China are the root cause of accidents endangering the sea and air military security between China and the United States. Mr. Yujun urged the US to respect international regulations and security concerns of the coastal countries and have proper resolution to disputes related to military aviation. Yang said that the US side should follow the principle of non-conflict, non-confrontation, mutual respect and win-win cooperation, take concrete actions, reduce and finally stop close-in surveillance of China, so as to create a sound atmosphere for bilateral military ties.
