(VOVworld) - Chinese Defense Minister Chang Wanquan met South Korean Defense Minister Han Min-Koo Wednesday and they pledged to increase military cooperation between the two countries.
Chang told Han that China applauds efforts to ease tensions and maintain stability on the Korean Peninsula, and hoped there will be a resumption of six-party talks

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the ASEAN Defense Ministers' Plus Meeting (ADMM+) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Chang said the two Defense Ministries need to boost the implementation of agreements reached by the leaders of the two countries, continue to strengthen information exchanges, and expand practical cooperation. Chang told Han that China applauds efforts to ease tensions and maintain stability on the Korean Peninsula, and hoped there will be a resumption of six-party talks.
Han said South Korea attaches great importance to the development of the ties between the two countries and hopes the two defense ministries will have frequent meetings at the highest level, expand regional cooperation, and boost military ties.
South Korea hailed China's constructive role in maintaining peace and security and in achieving denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula.
