China’s Defense Ministry said on Sunday that it has limited its nuclear capabilities to the minimum level required for national security. The ministry said it hopes the US will discard its cold-war mentality and shoulder its responsibility for nuclear disarmament.

Russian Head of the Duma Committee for international relations Leonid Slutsky told reporters on Saturday said the NPR is very dangerous from the point of view of violation of the principles of nuclear deterrence. Experts said promulgated regulations permitting the use of nuclear weapons not as weapons of mass destruction, and as a point tool in the fight against the enemy, can already provoke arms race in the world, as other countries can start to make adjustments to the doctrine.
