Chinese media reported that this was the first time China has hosted a G20 Summit, which is the most important diplomatic event there this year. Amid rising terror threats and other global challenges, the Hangzhou authorities will take tough security measures, including blocking off nearby buildings, deploying advanced facial recognition technology at key areas, and enhancing management on real name registration, mainly in hotel service reservation, express delivery, and internet access.
