China urges US to avoid further damage of ties
(VOVWORLD) - Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi urged the United States not to go too far in its damaging moves against Chinese interests in a phone conversation Saturday with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
Mr. Wang said China strongly opposes recent US actions that are harmful to Chinese interests in various fields, including hindering the Chinese enterprises' normal operations by political measures. He suggested US change its course as soon as possible to avoid further damage of bilateral ties.
Mr. Wang said China has always been willing to resolve economic and trade differences through negotiations and consultations which should be conducted on the basis of equality.
The US State Department said Mr. Pompeo briefed Mr. Wang on the latest development of the Iranian issue but revealed no further details.
