Lin Fang Jun of Hainan provincial Department of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sports, said that on February 6 China resumed overseas group tours after a three-year hiatus due to COVID-19, creating a new opportunity for tourism cooperation between Hainan and Vietnam.
Hainan is famous for its resorts. Its sea tourism, health tourism, cultural tourism, shopping tourism, and sports tourism attract a large number of domestic and foreign tourists.
“We know Vietnamese people like to travel and that the population of Vietnam is quite large. Vietnamese tourists, especially those from Ho Chi Minh City, are high-potential customers of Hainan,” said Jun.
Hainan has direct flights to Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City, and sea routes connecting Hainan and Ha Long in Quang Ninh province. Hainan will resume flights to Vietnam in the second quarter and press for visa exemptions for Vietnamese tourists.
