(VOVWORLD) - Many businesses in China reopened on Monday, following an easing of COVID-19 testing requirements in Beijing and other cities.

A negative test result within 48 hours is no longer required for public transport commuters in Beijing and Shanghai’s financial center. After 2 months of restrictions, people can go to public areas such as parks and tourist sites without submitting a negative COVID-19 test result.
Hangzhou, the capital city of Zhejiang province halted its mass testing of 10 million people, excluding those in or visiting nursing homes, schools, and kindergartens. Supermarkets, hotels, restaurants, and ski resorts also reopened on Monday in Urumqi, the capital city of the Xinjiang Autonomous Region.
China's National Health Commission reported over 29,700 new COVID-19 cases in China on Monday.
