Chinese Foreign Minister says world must avoid a new Cold War
(VOVWORLD) - The world must avoid a new Cold War, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Tuesday amid escalating trade tensions between China and the US.

According to Wang, it is important for China and the European Union to strengthen their ties and cooperate more closely in the fight against the coronavirus. “China will never want a Cold War because a Cold War would be a step backwards. We will not let other countries take this step in their own interest while damaging the interests of other countries,” Wang told reporters.
The Chinese Foreign Minister is on a trip to five European countries, with Italy being the first leg. This is his first overseas visit since the COVID-19 pandemic broke out.
