(VOVworld) – Chinese Party General Secretary and President Xi Jinping began a state visit to Vietnam on Thursday at the invitation of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and President Truong Tan Sang. During the two-day visit, he will hold talks with Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong and meet with President Truong Tan Sang, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung, and Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung. The visit is intended to boost the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership. On this occasion Vietnam reiterates its constant foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, diversification, and multilateralization. Vietnam wants to develop practical relations with China on the basis of mutual respect and benefit and equality, contributing to peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.
