(VOVworld) – Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Tehran on Friday for a state visit to Iran, which aims to strengthen the traditional friendship and promote economic cooperation between the two countries. Iran is the last leg of his tour of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Iran.

This is the first visit to Iran by a Chinese state leader in 14 years. President Xi will hold talks with President Hasan Rouhani on measures to coordinate each country’s development strategy and foster political and economic cooperation. The two countries will lift their relationship to the level of comprehensive strategic partnership on this occasion.
