Chinese scholar: Vietnamese Party leader’s China visit to boost bilateral ties

(VOVworld) – The upcoming visit to China by Vietnamese Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong will boost bilateral ties, said Xu Liping, a researcher at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Xu told Voice of Vietnam’s correspondent in Beijing that the visit is of great importance as it coincides with the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Vietnam.

The two countries established a comprehensive strategic partnership 8 years ago. Professor Xu urged both countries to fully realize the advantages created by this cooperative mechanism. He suggested the two parties enhance exchanges and political trust as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral relations. Xu was confident that Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong’s visit would reap great success and strengthen friendship between the two parties.
