Christmas celebrations underway

(VOVworld)- The President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thien Nhan has sent Christmas greetings to Catholic dignitaries and followers. In his letter, Nhan emphasized that over the years, Vietnam’s Catholics have lived the Gospel alongside with the nation. He also praised Catholics for their commitment to their fellow Vietnamese while following the Party guidelines and State law, responding to patriotic emulation movements and campaigns launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front. He wished Vietnam’s Catholics a Merry Christmas. On the occasion, Ha Thi Khiet, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Mass Mobilization Commission visited Hanoi Catholic Church and the Northern Protestant Church. During the meetings, Ms Khiet praised the Christians for their practical activities in building new rural areas and cultural lifestyles in residential areas. Khiet said that the Vietnamese Party and State always respect the freedom of religion and belief. She expressed her hope that the Christians would continue to join hands in national construction and defense.
