(VOVworld) – A Palestinian was killed and three Israelis were injured in a knife attack Wednesday outside Jerusalem's Old City.

Police spokeswoman Luba Samri said the attack happened outside the city's Jaffa Gate, a popular spot for tourists visiting Jerusalem's walled Old City. Security forces shot two knife-wielding Palestinian assailants.

In another development, 25 Palestinians were arrested by Israeli authorities, suspected of forming a terrorist cell aiming to carry out suicide bombing attacks against Israelis, the Shin Bet Security Agency announced Wednesday.
The agency also uncovered an explosives laboratory in Abu Dis in east Jerusalem, saying the group of Palestinians took advantage of the escalating violence in the West Bank to intensify bombings against their targets in the area and Israel. Shin Bet said Hamas' military wing is in charge of these efforts to carry out attack.
