A national exit poll showed Zelenskiy with 73 per cent of the vote while Poroshenko had just 25 per cent. President Poroshenko said he is leaving office but will not end his political career.
Zelenskiy, 41, got twice as many votes as Poroshenko in the first round vote three weeks ago. The vote’s official result will be announced next Wednesday and the new President will take office no later than June 3.
