(VOVworld) - The Ministry of Information and Communications, the Vietnam Red Cross Society, TV and Radio have granted more than 700 ICOM set to fishermen in coastal provinces. A ceremony to grant the equipment took place in Phan Thiet City on Sunday thanks to community donation through sending sms as well as donations in cash and in kind. The movement has received more than 9.5 billion dong and 50 set of equipment. The Vietnam Red Cross Society expected the donation to help fishermen update about weather and avoid storms, facilitating their offshore fishing to enforce Vietnam’s sovereignty in its sea and islands.
