Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang, who is also the Head of the Committee, said that Vietnam’s achievements over the past years cannot be separated from the contributions of the overseas Vietnamese community, who are an integral part of the Vietnamese nation.
The overseas community of 6 million includes hundreds of scientists, experts, intellectuals, and successful entrepreneurs, she said.
“The conference serves as a forum to attract and maximize the contributions of overseas Vietnamese to homeland development, especially in economics, trade, investment, science and technology, and innovation," Ms. Hang said.
"It is also an opportunity for Vietnamese authorities to better understand their aspirations and gather their opinions on related policies.”
The conference is expected to be attended by hundreds of overseas Vietnamese, ambassadors, and representatives of domestic enterprises, as well as experts and scholars.
