(VOVworld) – At least five people including four police personnel were injured in a bomb blast in Cairo on Thursday.

The Egyptian Ministry of the Interior said unidentified attackers in a car threw a hand-made bomb at a group of policemen on patrol near Helwan University. The injured policemen were hospitalized as explosives experts and more police arrived at the scene to investigate.

The same day, a sound bomb went off at a major railway station in Ramsis Square, downtown Cairo, causing injuries to three due to panic.

On Thursday, one policeman was killed and another wounded in an attack in Sharqiya district, 65km north of Cairo.
