More than 300 delegates who are war invalids, martyrs’ relatives, and eyewitnesses to the campaign attended the event. In his address, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam said the Party and state appreciated their sacrifices and contributions to national independence and freedom: “We are grateful to our predecessors and are determined to contribute to national construction and defense. Innumerate lives have been lost in return for national independence.”

Vietnam now has approximately 9 million policy beneficiaries, 1.5 million of whom are enjoying monthly allowances. 75 million USD has been raised to support policy beneficiaries over the last 5 years.
