Coordinated policies needed to support ethnic people
(VOVworld) – The National Assembly Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs will submit a report to the government asking for middle-term revisions to ethnic minority policies as several priority policies for ethnic people will expire this year, said Minister and Chairman of the Committee Giang Seo Phu on Sunday TV program “people ask, minister answers”. He added that revisions will encourage local governments to get involved in the policy-making and implementing process. Minister Giang Seo Phu said:
"Amendments and supplements to ethnic policies should focus on increasing preferential loans for ethnic people and reducing poverty. Related ministries and agencies are asked to speed up capital disbursement and streamline administrative procedures to facilitate ethnic people’s loan access."
The committee’s latest reports indicated huge positive changes in poverty reduction for ethnic people in mountainous areas over the past decade.
