(VOVWORLD) - According to worldometers.info, as of Thursday, the world has recorded more than 223 million COVID-19 infections, and more than 4.6 million people have died.

The US remains the biggest pandemic hotspot, with more than 41 million infections and 671,000 deaths, followed by India and Brazil.
The World Health Organization has called on countries to halt administering a third COVID-19 vaccine dose to anyone until the end of September to ensure a first dose for at least 40% of the world’s population.
