COVID-19: Vietnam to use home-made robots in high-risk infection areas
(VOVWORLD) - The Ministry of Science and Technology on Tuesday proposed using made-in-Vietnam robots in high-risk quarantine areas.
Earlier the Ministry assigned the Military Medical Academy to study the manufacturing of robots for medical assistance like the TUG robots of Aethon company in the US. Associate Professor Doctor Tang Quoc Nam, Head of the research team, said within 2 weeks, a robot called Vibot Version 1a was created to help medical staff and patients to conduct distant communications. Vibot robots can carry loads of different goods weighing up to 100 kg. Each robot is expected to replace the workload of 3-5 health care workers.
