Croatia opens its border with Serbia for migrants
(VOVworld) - Croatia has opened its border with Serbia, removing one of the bottlenecks for thousands of stranded migrants trying to make their way north. About 3,000 people had been stuck in cold and wet weather in the Serbian border village of Berkasovo, after Croatia moved to curb new arrivals.

Elvinas Jankevicius, Lithuania’s Deputy Interior Minister told reporters in a press conference that Lithuania's priority is to receive refugees with families, from different Syrian regions, and preferably speaking one of the EU’s official languages or one of languages of those countries bordering Lithuania.
The Czech government on Monday approved the deployment of 50 police officers in Hungary to help guard the Schengen border perimeter due to the ongoing migrant crisis. Czech police officers are to leave for Hungary at the end of October and the mission will continue until mid-December.
