(VOVworld) – Cuba's state telecommunications company said it has signed an interconnection and roaming agreement with US firm T-Mobile.

ETECSA will provide voice, text, and data service for customers of T-Mobile when they are in Cuba. Under the deal, customers will be able to call landlines and wireless phones from the U.S. for 60 cents a minute, 65% less than the current rate.

It is ETECSA’s second interconnection and roaming agreement with American firms, following an agreement with Verizon on March 14^th.  US firm AT&T is pursuing similar negotiations with a Cuban telecommunications partner.
