The event featured Hue traditional food, vegan dishes, cooking classes, and DJ music sessions.

Le Tan, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Cuisine Culture Association, said, "The atmosphere of this year’s festival is bustling. We want to introduce special dishes from the three regions of Vietnam through the festival. We are working with Thua Thien-Hue province to turn Hue into the food capital of Vietnam."

Another food festival offering 100 Hue street food dishes will open Saturday on the pedestrian street beside the Perfume River. The 6-day event will introduce such local dishes as grilled meat vermicelli, steamed rice rolls, rice vermicelli with mussels, and sweet soup. Visitors will sample the food, watch the chefs prepare it, and enjoy several music programs.
