Earlier in January the Upper House approved this agreement. The approval takes place amidst the Czech public’s positive response to the European Parliament’s approval of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade agreement and the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection agreement. The European Parliament's Vice President Dita Charanzová, who represents the Czech Republic, said the agreement opens a new market for Czech enterprises and the deal is of great importance to Czech export. Thanks to the approval of the EVFTA, Czech businesses can save around 39 million USD. He said Vietnam has been a traditional partner of the Czech Republic and this is a great condition for Czech businesses in the future.
