Provincial authorities said 11 investors have asked for permission to make surveys for 25 wind power projects. Dak Lak currently houses a wind power project which is under construction with an investment of nearly 560 million USD by the HBRE Wind Power Solution company. Once fully operational, it will have a total capacity of 210 MW, becoming the largest wind power plant in Vietnam.
According to a consulting firm of Dak Lak, local wind power potential is huge as the province has an average wind speed of 6 metres per second, giving it a total possible capacity of 1,400 MW.
