At a Thursday reception in Hanoi for Nepalese Minister for Commerce Romi Gauchan Thakali, Mr. Minh called on the two countries to finalize an agreement on visa exemption for holders of diplomatic and official passports as well as cooperation deals on economy, investment, trade, culture, tourism, and aviation.

He asked Nepal to provide optimal conditions for Vietnamese firms looking to invest in energy, infrastructure, and telecommunications, or to export consumer goods to Nepal.

Minister Thakali praised Vietnam’s socio-economic accomplishments and said Nepal wants to strengthen relations with Vietnam, particularly in economy and trade.

He said he hopes the two will increase delegation and people-to-people exchanges to share experience and promote collaboration.

Mr. Thakali was in Hanoi to attend a UN meeting for the Euro-Asia region on improving cooperation in transit, trade and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
