Deputy PM Pham Binh Minh meets Chinese Premier, Russian Deputy PM
(VOVworld) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh met with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang on Wednesday. Mr. Minh affirmed that Vietnam has attached great importance to strengthening a friendly neighborliness and comprehensive cooperation with China. Minh recommended measures to carry out agreements between the two Parties and governments.

He asked China to abide by agreements and common perception of their high-ranking leaders and resolve disputes based on international law without affecting the Vietnam-China relations. He urged China to implement agreed mechanisms on maritime issues, work with the ASEAN to comply with the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea, soon finalize the Code of Conduct of Parties in the East Sea, restrain from provocation, and appropriately resolve fishing issues.
Chinese Premier Li Keqiang agreed on the need to maintain exchanges of delegations, people-to-people exchanges, improve the effectiveness of working groups, boost bilateral cooperation, address differences and deepen the Sino-Vietnam comprehensive strategic partnership.
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh held a bilateral meeting with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich. At the meeting, the two Deputy Prime Ministers agreed to further bilateral cooperation, accelerate the approval of the Vietnam-Eurasian Union Free Trade Agreement, and increase bilateral trade, investment, cooperation. They agreed to strengthen coordination with each other and with ASEAN countries to prepare for the summit to celebrate the 20th anniversary of ASEAN-Russia Dialogue Partnership in May 2016.
