Deputy Prime Minister orders continued closing forests
(VOVWORLD) -Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung has ordered ministries, sectors, and localities to continue to strictly implement the Prime Minister’s policy of forest closure.
Mr. Dung made the statement at a conference of the steering committee for the national target program on sustainable development of the forestry sector held in the central province of Binh Dinh on Friday. He said aggressive measures should be taken to increase value of forests and capitalize on those values to meet the needs for natural disaster mitigation, biological environmental protection, and income improvement. Deputy Prime Minister Dung said:“I ask central ministries and sectors and members of the Steering Committee to strictly control the transfer of forest land use rights to other purposes. We don’t prohibit the transfer of forest use purposes, but forest should serve humans to create a good environment and help in economic development.”
