(VOVworld) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh received Norway’s new ambassador to Vietnam Siren Gjerme Eriksen on Tuesday. Minh appreciated the friendship and cooperation between the two countries in the areas of politics, diplomacy, and development and urged expanded cooperation in economics, trade, and investment. He said he hoped that the ambassador and Vietnamese partners would find new cooperation opportunities, encourage Norwegian businesses to invest in Vietnam in the areas of Norway’s potential including shipbuilding, navigation, oil and gas, hydro electricity, fishing, and telecommunications. He said that Vietnam’s Foreign Ministry and other relevant agencies would create favorable conditions for the ambassador to fulfill her mission in Vietnam. The Norwegian ambassador pledged to deepen bilateral ties during her mission in Vietnam.
