Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam attends 5th Conference on Vietnam Studies

(VOVworld) – The 5th International Conference on Vietnam Studies, themed “Sustainable Development in the Context of Global Change”, opened in Hanoi on Thursday. Present at the opening ceremony were 2,500 Vietnamese and foreign experts.

The conference will discuss 6 topics: Foreign relations, international cooperation and integration; Cultural resources; Education and training and human resource development; Technology and knowledge transfer; the Economy and Livelihoods; and Climate change.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam acknowledged the studies on Vietnam as being foundations for Vietnamese law makers in national construction and development.

Mr. Dam said: “All factors should be taken into consideration to ensure fast and sustainable development. In order to make Vietnam a country worth living for all people, we need scientific studies and advice for long-lasting results. Discussions on cultural exchange, external relations, climate change, science and technology will contribute to Vietnam’s policy-making process.”
