(VOVworld) - More than 100 economists and environmental experts across the country gathered at a seminar in Ha Long City on Monday to evaluate Vietnam’s moves to develop a green economy, the best option for developing nations like Vietnam. When addressing the meeting themed ‘A Green economy and sustainable development’, some of the participants suggested that the Government pays more attention to monitoring the progress and growth of green policies. Environmental factors must be taken into consideration when drawing up plans for the development of science and technology, and promoting the consumption of green goods. The delegates called for priorities to be identified when developing the agricultural sector, using renewal energies, creating and managing safe water resources, and upgrading the infrastructure to develop eco-tourism. Many delegates proposed the Government introduces policies to attract both financial and technical investment from private and foreign sectors to develop the green economy while involving people from all walks of life in actively protecting the environment.
