(VOVWORLD) -National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue said developing relations with China is a strategic choice and top priority in Vietnam’s foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, for peace, cooperation and development, multilateralization and diversification of Vietnam's foreign relations.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue met with Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and President of China in Beijing on Monday during an official visit to China. The NA Chairman affirmed that Vietnam consistently delivers the "one China" policy.
He proposed that the two sides consolidate and increase political trust, increase high-level contacts, and implement good exchanges and cooperation through the Party, Government, National Assembly, Fatherland Front and in important areas such as diplomacy, police, and national defense.
Chairman Hue suggested that the two sides enhance strategic connectivity, create new growth momentum for cooperation between the two countries, with a focus on expanding trade cooperation and import of goods, especially Vietnamese agricultural produce. He called for further connections between Vietnam and China's major development strategies, railways, highways, seas, and air, and bolstering financial, monetary, and digital transformation cooperation.

Party General Secretary and President of China Xi affirmed that China supports Vietnam's development, stability, and successful construction of socialism in line with national situation.
He said that the top leaders of the two Parties and two countries agreed to build a community with a shared future of strategic significance, opening up a new period of cooperation for bilateral relations with six major directions. They include higher political trust, more substantive defense and security cooperation, deeper, substantive cooperation, stronger social foundation, closer multilateral coordination, better controlled and resolved differences, positively contributing to peace and development in the region and the world.
The Party General Secretary and President of China affirmed China’s willingness to deepen the relationship between the two Parties and two countries.
