Dien Bien cherry blossom festival celebrates Vietnam-Japan friendship
(VOVWORLD) -Cherry Blossom Festival opened in Dien Bien province on Friday as part of activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory and strengthen cultural and people-to-people exchanges between Vietnam and Japan.

At the opening ceremony, Vua A Bang, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dien Bien province, said that 10 years ago, Japan presented 1,000 cherry blossom trees to Dien Bien. Over the years, the plants have been suitable for the climate and soil conditions of Dien Bien.
So far, the Pa Khoang cherry blossom island has become a popular tourist attraction, helping to promote the tourism sector in Dien Bien and foster friendship between Vietnam and Japan.
