(VOVWORLD) - 240 Vietnamese in the US were repatriated on a Vietnam Airlines direct flight operated on a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

Directed by Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Vietnamese Embassy in the US, flight VN5 departed Hanoi for Washington D.C, transited in Anchorage, Alaska, and returned to Hanoi.
Vietnam Airlines’ highest COVID-19 pandemic prevention measures were imposed on the flight. It’s the first of 12 flights that Vietnam Airlines has been licensed to repatriate Vietnamese from the US back home since early June.
