(VOVworld)- On Friday, the Fund for Child Support in Thua Thien Hue province organized a full moon festival for and presented nearly 2,000 gifts to disadvantaged children.
Vo Kim Khanh, Deputy Director of the Sub-Department for Social Protection and Child Care said: “We organized this festival for disadvantaged children in all local Center for Social Support. Districts in the province have held similar events in disadvantaged communes. We have mobilized various resources from political, social organizations and community to help the children”.
There are 4,600 disadvantaged children in Thua Thien Hue province, 2,200 are disabled and more than 1,100 are street children.
The Center for Social Affairs in Lao Cai province mobilized donors to present nearly 100 gifts for disadvantaged children. Nguyen Thi Ly is Deputy Director of the Center: “We have prepared a special Mid-Autumn festival for disadvantaged children. The program features lion dances, singing performance, reading the President’s letter and a Mid-Autumn festival feast”.
