(VOVWORLD) - Hanoi authorities on Monday donated more than 300,000 USD to help people in the central region hit by storm Doksuri.

The assistance will go to Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Quang Tri, and Thua Thien-Hue province. Ha Tinh and Quang Binh, who bore the full brunt of the typhoon, will receive 66,000 USD each. The others will get 44,000 USD each.
Also on Monday, the Vietnam Youth Union launched a campaign to raise money for storm victims which encourages each officer and worker to donate at least one day’s salary.
