North Korea’s National Defense Committee sent a fax to South Korean’s National Security Council on Wednesday using the military hotline on the western coast. The threat was issued following rallies in Seoul to protest the execution of Jang Song-Taek, an uncle of leader Kim Jong-un. Spokesperson of South Korea’s Defense Ministry, Kim Min-seok said Seoul sent immediate reply through the hotline, affirming that Seoul is closely following the situation and will strongly strike back against any provocation from Pyongyang.
