(VOVworld) – National Assembly deputies agreed on Wednesday to change the name of the draft Law on Information Security to the draft Law on Internet Information Security to better reflect the nature of this Law. The Law will improve the legal basis for ensuring information security and specify national defense and security requirements. It will address information security on three levels: cyber information violations, cyber information conflicts, and cyber warfare. Nguyen Huu Hung, a deputy for Tien Giang province, said: "I think the draft Law should include regulations on the rights and obligations of businesses and individuals providing public information across borders. A strict management of cryptography is of great necessity as it helps prevent cryptographic activities that could harm national security. Activities regarding managing, licensing, and assessing the quality of civil cryptography should be controlled by by the Government Information Security Committee."
