(VOVworld) – The Party’s affairs overseas have been successful over the past years since implementing the Resolution of the 11^th National Party Congress. At a year-end conference in Hanoi on Monday, delegates said representative offices abroad have helped boost economic and cultural diplomacy, popularizing the Party’s guidelines and the State’s policies  while promoting Vietnam’s image.

Le Hong Anh, a member of the Politburo and permanent member of the Party Secretariat, urged Party committees to reform and consult the Party Central Committee on Party affairs overseas:“The Party committees overseas, as well as ministries and mass organizations need to coordinate more closely to lead Party organizations abroad in fulfilling their tasks, contributing to safeguarding an environment of peace, favorable for national industrialization and modernization. It is necessary to protect national sovereignty and territorial integrity and win support from the international friends. This will help with national building and defense and the promotion of Vietnam’s status worldwide”.

The conference heard 20 reports by Party Committee representatives from Russia, the US, Germany, China, Cambodia, Japan and Angola.
