(VOVworld) – A training conference took place in Quang Ninh province on Wednesday to update information about Vietnam’s border, sea, and islands for educational staff in 26 northern provinces and cities.
The participants who are educational managers and teachers of history and geography in high schools were updated with the reality and difficulties faced by the education and communications on issues relating to sea, islands, and maritime potential related in Vietnam’s high schools.
They were also introduced the position, role, and importance of seas, islands, and marine resources to the national development and defense. Also high on the agenda were the current East Sea situation, the policies of countries involved, Vietnam’s measures to fight against China’s illegal placement of oil rig Haiyang-981 in Vietnam’s exclusive economic zone and continental shelf, and historical evidence to confirm Vietnam’s sovereignty over the territorial waters.
