Egypt clashes leave one dead, hundreds injured

One person was killed and nearly 680 others were injured during clashes between police and protesters in Egypt’s capital city. The one day violence broke out on Saturday in Cairo's Tahrir Square when police dismantled sitting protesters, who erected tents a day earlier. As police entered the square, protesters threw stones and swarmed an armored police vehicle. Police fired tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse the crowds of thousands of people. Demonstrations and clashes have been spreading to Egypt’s other major cities including Alexandria and Suez.
