Egypt’s Muslim faction has called for protests to support Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi and a draft constitution. Meanwhile, the opposition also held marches to oppose a constitutional referendum which scheduled to take place this month. Speaking on Egypt’s television, Mohammad ElBaradei, the former director of the International Atomic Energy Agency and Egypt’s prominent opposition leader, called on Morsi to postpone the referendum in order to avoid the “specter of civil war”. He also called for a “no” vote in the referendum unless Morsi postpones the referendum.

In another development, Vice President Mahmoud Mekky held a third national dialogue session with a number of political figures and legal experts to discuss the new draft constitution and ways to resolve the current political crisis.
