(VOVWORLD) - Egyptian President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi launched a military base in the coastal city of Alexandria on Saturday.

The MENA news agency reported that this is the largest military base in the Middle East and Africa. The base is named after late President Mohamed Naguib who led the 1952 revolution to overthrow King Faruq and abolish the monarchy in Egypt.
