Egypt sets up Constitution Revising Committee

(VOVworld)- Egypt’s interim President Adly Mansour has signed a decree on the establishment of a Committee for Revising the 2012 Constitution, which was suspended on July 3 by the military. The Al Ahram daily reported that the Committee, headed by Chief Judge Awad Ali Saleh, the President’s Constitutional Adviser, will meet on Sunday in Shura Council- Egypt’s Upper House and has one month to complete its work. Under the decree, a technical secretariat will also be set up to assist this committee.
In another development, Egypt’s MENA news agency reported that the first meeting of the country’s interim cabinet will be held on Sunday to discuss economic and security matters.
